There are currently no facilities for the teens in the village with the exception of a set of goalposts which have
fallen into disrepair. Transport facilities to nearby villages and towns are infrequent and as such there is
no opportunity for this age group to use other leisure sites.
The facilities for juniors and toddlers are scanty and some of the equipment is long past its sell-by date. There
is no safe surfacing and the tarmac areas surrounding some of the equipment are felt to be particularly dangerous.
It is also felt that the access gate needs to be widened and perhaps repositioned. The field is particularly secluded and
for security purposes, it has been proposed to lower the boundary fences along Princes Street to create an open and
more inviting environment for the village children.
In the short term, PCG has written to the Parish Council to request that the grass is mowed more frequently and this
has been agreed. You hopefully have noticed the improvement this year.
We have included our aims (see right) and we hope that this will give you an idea of what we are
hoping to achieve.
Living in a rural community should not mean that children are deprived of the right to have access to leisure and
sporting facilities that are modern and safe. We do hope that you will support this initative and it is important
that we are able to demonstrate that there is a need and a desire before any financial outlay is possible .You can do
this by contacting us and pledging your support. On every page you will see a link tilted "Contact us". This
will enable you to contact a Commitee member by phone or e-mail.
